Company HistoryIn January 1985, a wholly owned investment counselling subsidiary, CT Investment Counsel Inc. (CTIC), was formed to manage the equity and fixed income assets that had accumulated within the Canada Trust Company since 1956. Under the stewardship of its chairman, John Mulvihill, CTIC grew to become one of Canada‘s most respected investment counselling organizations, with 27 employees managing in excess of $7 billion on behalf of Canada Trust and third party institutional investors. In February 1995, John Mulvihill purchased all of the institutional investment management contracts from Canada Trust and renamed the firm Mulvihill Capital Management Inc. (MCM). MCM is now 100% owned and operated by eight of its senior managers and is registered as an investment counselor, mutual fund dealer, limited market dealer or equivalent in all the provinces and territories. Assets under management presently total $2.608 billion.
